USA! USA! USA!

Jack is all geared up for the World Cup, thanks to my friend Elise who was in South Africa for a few months this spring and sent him an awesome shirt. (Thanks again Elise!)
He wore it today in preparation for the USA-England game and we're keeping our fingers crossed that Team USA can pull out a win.
And if they can't, no worries, Jack and Chewy are having fun anyway

At my baby shower in October my sister Nancy bought a large assortment of onesies and paint pens so that everyone who was there could personalize a onesie for Jack. They are all so cute and original that I could not wait to put them on him but it took so long for Jack's cord to fall off so he can actually wear them. He finally has a cute little belly button so starting today I am going to showcase one of the onesies a day, starting with this one that Nancy made.
Also, this is how Jack fell asleep on Chris's lap the other night. Is he the absolute cutest or what??

Have I mentioned how lucky I am to have Chris?

He comes home after a full day of work, walks the dog, and takes the screaming baby from me so I can have a few moments peace.

As much as it helps to have my parents here and Chris's mom here before them, it is amazing to have a partner who cares so much about me and who wants to help me and most of all, wants to spend time with our little boy.

I've said it before and I will say it a million times again.

I am a very lucky girl.

We are all doing well and hoping to go home tomorrow (Monday). So far, all checks with the pediatrician have been wonderful. He has only lost a couple of ounces and I'm sure he will make those up quickly because he eats like a champ, hardly giving his mama a break but I love every minute of it. 

He has the sweetest disposition and after most feedings we sit and look at each other and chat. OK, I chat and he listens but he's a great listener and I can just tell he's really taking it all in and I've only caught him rolling his eyes a couple of times. (KIDS!) 

I will follow up sometime this week with the story of his birth and the exciting 2 days leading up to it. Thanks to everyone who sent their good wishes. We feel so blessed and lucky to have all of you caring about us, even if it's from far away. And Jack can't wait to meet you all!

Today is Veteran's day. I hope that everyone takes a minute to think about those who gave their lives and their limbs to fight for our country. And thank a veteran you may know, even if it's the guy on the corner who you pass every day and maybe pretend you don't see. Because there is a huge percentage of homeless people who are veterans (estimated between 23% and 45%) and there are men and women coming home every week who may one day join them.

I hope that, along with finding a responsible way out of Iraq and Afghanistan, the new Obama administration can find some money in the budget to give greater assistance to our Veterans; to give them competent psychological help and a clean, warm safe place to live. I think that is the least we as a country can offer them and it's been sadly overlooked for a very long time.

hmmmm...

A little while ago, I opened the front door to find a gigantic box on the doorstep.

This is what I found inside the box:

In case you can't tell from the picture, it is a 6-foot tall giraffe!

The only problem is, there was no note in the box, not even a packing slip, so I have no idea who sent this awesome gift. Any ideas?

As much as I love the idea of a mystery gift, I would like to be able to properly thank whoever sent this. I'm sure The "Mar is going to love it!

Chewy, however, is not sure what to make of it.

every day is like christmas

Almost every day now, there is a knock at the door and the nice UPS or USPS man is standing there with another package. This week alone, we have received the carseat, extra carseat base, bassinet/co-sleeper, FuzziBunz diapers, bouncy seat, swing, and a diaper bag filled with goodies from Lucky Kid, including the cutest little baby jeans ever!

I decided to take some pictures today and share it with you all:
