boogie on down

So the Softball World Series was a lot of fun but, alas, the Pirates did not make it to the final game. Chris pitched the whole game and did a great job but a combination of errors and mishaps were just too much for the team to overcome. But a good time was had by all and they may begin a new season in a couple of weeks.

Today I went to the genetic counselor and after a meeting in her office where she entailed the hundreds of thousands of defects, genetic and otherwise, I got to get my longest ultrasound yet. During this procedure, the tech has to measure so many different things so it took about a half hour for her to do all her little things, during which time I got to see Kumar karate-kick me and generally break dance in my belly. It's incredible to me that I cannot feel him after seeing just how active and crazy he is in there. The tech said that he's just still so small (a little over 2 inches) and in so much fluid that it's too early to feel him but I'm kind of scared of how powerful this kid seems to be. While right now I am dying to feel something, I know that in a couple of months I am going to be cursing his brute strength and energy.

The length of the baby was on target for being exactly 12 weeks today (YAY!)and she said that everything else looked very good so from here we wait for the blood results in a week, and in a month I get to go back and do it all again and then we can relax. It seems silly to me to have to go back after a good result and normally I would say the one set of tests were enough but my insurance covers it and it's another ultrasound!!!! Who turns down a free ultrasound?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I did get some more ultrasound pictures which I will post as soon as I (meaning Chris) gets them scanned (I would say over the weekend because he has been working so late every day this week) but in the meantime I would like to share with you-

Somehow I think that if I were to look down to my feet, I might find the same view. You're so cute. I guess the fact is that I do eat donuts and don't do crunches. Thanks for the updates, though. I say just be happy you have become all swollen and lumpy like some are wont to do.
